LOFFT - DAS THEATER is a nationally and internationally recognized venue for co-productions, events and guest performances of contemporary dance, post-dramatic theater and performance art in Leipzig. Since spring 2019, our theater is located at the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei, an internationally networked venue for visual and interdisciplinary arts.

We invite tenders

We are looking for artistic partnerships for six to eight new stage productions for the year 2023. They should be created as co-productions with the LOFFT and be performed for the first time with us. Further co-production partnerships with other production houses in other cities are welcome. After the premiere, we initially want to stage three to five more performances. Of particular interest to us are projects that are characterized by conceptual strength, independent aesthetic signatures and high artistic quality in their realization. Due to our location, we are also interested in projects that pursue artistic interdisciplinary approaches and move between genres.

We address

Currently, our co-productions in the main and impulse programs are primarily focused on professional artists and companies based in Germany. However, applications from artists from abroad are also possible. The Impulse Program aims at the promotion and artistic development of young professional artists from Leipzig and Saxony who are on their way to establish themselves.

We offer

Within the framework of our co-production program, the selected projects benefit from:

• a financial contribution to the production costs from funds of the Cultural Office of the City of Leipzig
• the provision of our theater space and technology for final rehearsals and performances in our house
• supervision by our technical staff and support by the entire LOFFT team
• press relations, online and offline advertising and other marketing measures, and
• a performance fee per person involved.

The artists and groups selected as co-producers are responsible as equal and independent partners for the realization of the productions, including financing. LOFFT will issue a venue certificate for the co-production, on the basis of which it will be possible to apply for further funding.

Application, deadlines, selection process

Interested groups or individuals should send the completed application form, meaningful project outlines, and other relevant documents in German in PDF format to ausschreibung@lofft.de by June 26, 2022.

Additional material should also be provided in electronic form only (web pages, video links, open dropbox for files). The date of receipt of the email applies in each case. Concepts received after the deadline cannot be considered in the selection.

Submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by an artistic advisory board. You will receive information about the selection as a co-production by June 25, 2022 at the latest.
