The reality of life in the East has often been dismissed as a subsection of German history and not perceived as part of the entire German experience. Diana Wesser and Juliane Meckert, in collaboration with former GDR punk musicians from renowned bands such as L'Attentat, IchFunktion, or Herbst in Peking, among others, highlight the relevance of these experiences through their biographies. They aim to fill a gap in the overall German historiography.
