SHOWING: FREIBAD ZWEITAUCHEN
STUDIO URBANISTAN (LEIPZIG)
The group provides insights into its research at four outdoor swimming pools in eastern and western Germany.
Thirty-five years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, STUDIO URBANISTAN visits outdoor swimming pools in eastern and western Germany to talk to people between the slides, pools, sunbathing lawns and kiosks about their personal stories of german-german identity. At LOFFT, visitors can approach inflatable swimming objects as part of a research showing to hear the combined narratives and immerse themselves in the sounds of the outdoor pool.
The installation is permanently accessible and viewers can listen to the audio recordings for as long as they like. There will be 10 headphones available for loan. The total length of the audio recordings is approximately 45 minutes.
The FREIBAD ZWEITAUCHEN residency by STUDIO URBANISTAN is made possible by the »FREIRAUM« grant from the Netzwerk Freier Theater, funded as part of the »Verbindungen fördern« programme of the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste, supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
