CHIRP is a participatory space and sound installation dedicated to extinct bird songs.
Since 1980, the number of birds in Europe has fallen by a quarter. Unlike direct environmental disasters, bird deaths escape our direct perception - and with them the songs that are increasingly vanishing. CHIRP makes this acoustic loss audible. Songs from an open source archive are being expanded in terms of composition and text. In the process, a place of contemplation and mourning is created in a walk-in spatial and sound installation.

Open from 19:00 to 22:30. You can come and go at any time.
Expect approx. 30 minutes for the visit.
Tip: The performances can be easily combined with the dance performance _PLEX at 20:00 next door in the Techne Sphere (Niemeyerstrasse 2-5) and with BINGOWINGS at 21:00 in the Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig.
