The curtain falls and the performance begins. The audience follows the dancers on stage, experiences ups and downs and in the end applause and bowing follow. But how does a dance piece actually take shape, which moments influence the way to the goal?
Glimpses into the production process of a new piece are known as work-in-progress formats. But are these free from the pressure of becoming a finished stage piece? What efforts and inspirations go into an intensive rehearsal phase? Do differences in the working process arise when both the choreographers and some dancers do not conform to idealized body norms?
FORWARD DANCE COMPANY is the first professional mixed-abled dance company based at LOFFT – DAS THEATER in the Free State of Saxony. With INSIGHTS, it invites you to look through a keyhole into its rehearsal process and to dive into its work. Choreographers Markéta Stránska and Alessandro Schiatarella set different forces free, where the audience can follow two concentrated research processes. They might become flashes of the promising, while also fragile moment of the creation of new works. Detached from the pressures of production and premiere, FORWARD DANCE COMPANY shares its research space with the public.
On Wednesday, 03.11.2021 the symposium UNPROFESSIONAL WORLDS? will take place at LOFFT - DAS THEATER from 12:00 to 16:30 as part of euro-scene Leipzig.
