The contemporary dance piece OUT OF JOINT deals with the profound but often invisible strain placed on relatives of people with mental illness. The piece addresses the effects of mental illness on the family system and explores how dynamics, roles, responsibilities and relationships within a family change. The focus is on the inner processes and perspectives of the relatives. The contemporary dance piece combines choreographed sequences, structured improvisation and physical theatre.
