SHOWING: BAU HOW
FELIX BAUMANN / VON B BIS Z (BERLIN)
Felix Baumann transforms the construction site into a performative playground - where everyday work routines, accidents and materials are staged into absurd, poetic images - through circus, dance and humor.
With his new interdisciplinary production, circus and theatre maker Felix Baumann returns to his roots: the craft of building. Building materials and tools are dragged onto the stage, set in motion and re-staged. This opens up unexpected perspectives on seemingly mundane processes and simple materials. BAU HOW examines the act of building as a creative process and poetic gesture. Central themes include the identity of workers and the special humour found on construction sites, which oscillates between pragmatism and playfulness. The physicality of the performers bridges the gap between construction and circus: work routines, rhythms and accidents are transformed into breathtaking stunts, boundary-pushing acrobatics and moving images.
