POLITIK IM FREIEN THEATER: DU BIST DRAN! | IT'S YOUR TURN!

We are heroines and heroes! Or at least, we’d like to be. Among our friends. In sports and games. In life. And yet, the competition for appreciation is anything but fair. Who gets picked first in team sports? Who is left standing unnoticed until the end? 
Luckily, the four heroes and heroines in Regina Rossi’s choreographic piece DU BIST DRAN! are anything but perfect. They may be wearing glittering coats and golden shoes, but they still miss their attempted basketball dunks. What is to be done? That’s right: We need to find allies! And so we become part of the competition right away. Squeaking sneakers, flying balls, and the excited audience joins in. Are you for me or against me? Are there any rules or none? This dance piece is a sporty experience of what it means to overcome everyday challenges as adversaries or as a collective. A cheerfully sweaty game of life where the true heroes and heroines are not necessarily alone on the winner’s podium in the end. 

Regina Rossi 
The Brazilian choreographer Regina Rossi conceives, directs and opens spaces for dance for a young audience. She encounters her audience on walkable stages, in installative or urban spaces, in school or the virtual realm. Her interdisciplinary choreographies shatter the boundaries between dance, theatre, music and performance art, and invite participation. On an equal footing with each other and with plenty of humour.
