KATAPULT: TORNADO'S EYE

DAVID EISELE (ALTENBURG)

A musician starts dancing with his cello. Chairs spin all by themselves and glasses turn into acrobatic marvels. Join us for a hypnotic journey between madness and meditation.

Finding calm in the storm is probably a need for many people in today's world. To take a step back, away from the delusions of greatness and consumption, towards what is directly surrounding us. To recognising the potential in this and getting one step closer to the core of our own reality. David Eisele approaches this attempt in his piece TORNADO'S EYE, in which he places the cello at the centre and creates a symbiosis between live music, dance and object manipulation. The objects all have one thing in common: they can rotate or spin in a variety of ways. The chair spins like a potter's wheel, the glass turns into a diabolo and the cello takes on a life of its own. This artistic energy creates a piece that transforms the spinning dance into a meditative trance and invites the audience to deep relaxation and focus.
