Nesren Shalgen (Leipzig) + HOT TOPIC! (Leipzig)
The closing concert of the EMBRACE EMBRACE series with Krista Papista will be accompanied by a reading of the queer erotic magazine HOT TOPIC! and an exhibition by the Syrian artist Nesren Shalgen.
Before the concert of Krista Papista there will be a reading from various issues of the queer erotic magazine HOT TOPIC! with Nina Heller, Cynthia Cornelius and Mari Molle. The event will be complemented by an exhibition by Syrian artist Nesren Shalgen.
Nesren Shalgen studies at the „Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig“ since 2019. Her art deals with exile, memories and femininity: "I don't create my art, I search for it, like someone who is tired and looking for a home that is nowhere to be found. I paint my own place to inhabit it."
HOT TOPIC! is a series of erotic dime novels in booklet format that aims to enrich the eroticism portrayed in the mainstream with different and more diverse perspectives, breaking with normative narratives of eroticism and sexuality. The authors want to create a desire for desire: "we are ready, we are just waiting for you and we are hot... so hot - too hot not to talk about."
