THE STATE OF THINGS TO COME
LASS DIR RATEN: GRÜNDE STAATEN! In 2017 the ZIONIST-SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF UGANDA celebrates it’s first 100 years of existence and opens up its first embassy in Leipzig on the occasion of this jubilee.
OUT OF PLACE AND OUT OF TIME: As a NIGHTASYLUM (Max Nordau) for all those who are trying to escape from the ’dark continent’ called Europe the ZIONIST-SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF UGANDA is a dreamstate from the future of the past and its buried utopias. Discussed for the first time as the "Uganda-Plan" during the 6th Zionist Congress in 1903 as a political-territorial option, the republic has been OUT OF VIEW for a long time. But on the occasion of its 100th anniversary of its foundation the STATE OF THINGS TO COME establishes contact with the rest of the world: After its embassy opening in Prague in march 2017 NOW the second ex(con)temporary embassy of the republic opens its doors in Leipzig. Between the hallucinations of modernity and history, lions and socialim, Bauhaus-inspired Kibbuzim and savannas friendly fire and their guests construct fragments of a different history of the 20th and 21st century at the borders of dream and waking-up.
