DIE KUNST, VIELE ZU BLEIBEN | THE ART OF REMAINING MANY
BUNDESWEITE FOREN FÜR KUNST, FREIHEIT UND DEMOKRATIE
The Fonds Darstellende Künste initiates a journey through eight cities with DIE KUNST, VIELE ZU BLEIBEN | THE ART OF REMAINING MANY, standing for art, freedom, and democracy in various gatherings. The two-day program of debates and performances in Leipzig will take place at LOFFT - DAS THEATER and at the Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig.
Attacks on art (and artistic freedom), good debates, and resistant subcultures and perspectives are the focus of the two-day program of debates and performances in Leipzig. On stage at LOFFT, WESSER | MECKERT & Band will present "WIR KRIEGEN EUCH ALLE!" | "WE'LL GET YOU ALL!" addressing the so-called "baseball bat years," while at the Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig, Lina Majdalanie and Rabih Mroué will discuss the impact of nationalist hero myths in SUNNY SUNDAY, using recent events in Poland as an example.
Mirna Funk reports on how a good culture of debate functions from a Jewish perspective and how we can relearn productive, contradiction-tolerant arguing as a form of societal coexistence. This approach is also explored by the networking initiative of the artists from kompliz* in Saxony in dialogue with Eva Hartmann, as well as by Tanja Krone in her activating-activist workshop "SCHÖN AUFMISCHEN! EINE ÜBUNG ZU ANREGENDEM WAHLKAMPF" | "STIR THINGS UP! AN EXERCISE IN STIMULATING CAMPAIGNING". Both seek to put the concept into practice: arguing as a performative-artistic and political strategy awakens civil resilience forces, which seem urgently needed in light of Peter Laudenbach's report of over a hundred right-wing attacks on artistic freedom in his book "Volkstheater".
On the second day, the Radikale Töchter offer a workshop aimed at promoting humanity, attitude, passion, and self-motivated action. Ntando Cele will open up anti-discrimination perspectives, while the Polish theater group Komuna Warszawa will address questions of (political) reason in a workspace and exchange room, highlighting further international viewpoints.
Admission to the daytime program is free, but registration is required.
Participants who register for the daytime program will receive discounted tickets for the evening program. The wristband issued at registration on the event day serves as proof of discount at the entrance. Tickets can be booked as usual online through the theaters' ticket shops.
